Fenway continues to expand! Samuels and Associates, the local developer of the Fenway Trilogy Triangle (originally Trilogy) and 1330 Boylston submitted applications to build two new buildings in the ever expanding Fenway neighborhood, just outside of the Back Bay, Boston.
The first development will be four stories of retail space topped with two eight story towers, one residential, the other office space. A second building will house 150 residential units. Underground garage parking would house 575 parking spots. There are rumors swirling that Target may be eyeing the retail space at 1325 Boylston street.
The Fenway Civic Association has previously complimented Samuels and Associates as an "excellent neighbor" and the agency is "generally satisfied with the overall development concept for the two adjacent sites" though they did also cite several concerns with the project.
Of their concerns is the low owner occupancy levels in the the fenway. Many condo projects were scrapped in favor of rental buildings. According the the association the fenway has " the lowest level of home ownership of any Boston neighborhood." Another concern is whether the glass facad would be fatal to birds. Yes this is a real concern!
If all goes as planned, Samuels and Associates would like to start construction early 2012.
